Tarek is broadly interested in exploring the synthesis of instrumentalist and humanist approaches to humanitarianism. His current research project looks at the practice of “co-creation” in humanitarian settings, with a particular focus on questions of agency and power.
Tarek received his undergraduate training at Johns Hopkins University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Health Studies. He later pursued a Master of Science in Built Environment from University College London (UCL).
