Jorge (they/them) is an artist and doctoral student from Yanaguana/San Antonio, Texas. Their research looks at SpaceX’s Starbase facility in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. They are interested in tracing the ways Mars colonization is understood and how such technoscience comes to impact the U.S.-Mexico borderlands.
They hold a BS in Astrophysics from Brown University, a BFA in Glass from Rhode Island School of Design, an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and an MFA in Environmental Art and Social Practice from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
