Current Research Areas: anthropology of childhood, education, STS, knowledge production and expertise

Halah (she/her) is an interdisciplinary scholar whose research interests lie at the intersection of the anthropology of childhood and the history/anthropology of science. Her work critically examines the construction of normative childhoods in public discourse and scientific knowledge production in North America. She is particularly interested in the use of children’s brains in explanations of so-called educational failure and success, and in the sociopolitical implications of these explanations. Halah holds a B.A in Anthropology from Indiana University and an M.A in Anthropology and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
